DESCRIPTION: Color is ruddy orange, sometimes with streaks; it is imported from Jamaica in sawn logs from. Thought to be an inferior species of Brazil wood.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: South America (Brazil & Jamaica)
BOTANICAL NAME: Caesalpina brazili-ensie
WORKING PROPERTIES: Pre-drilling maybe required for nailing & screwing. Glues well & can be polished to an excellent finish.
USES: Violin bows, turnery, gunstocks, inlay work & decorative veneers for furniture.
