DESCRIPTION: Sapwood darkens progressively from dark until it merges into the heartwood. Heartwood is a creamy color at first & darkens to a light orange or golden tan. Has interlocked grain with a fine texture & a high luster.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: South America & Southern North America (Caribbean & South Florida)

WORKING PROPERTIES: Very dense, strong & heavy. Works well with hand tools. It turns excellently, carves very well & can take a very high polish.
USES: High quality furniture, turnery, carving, inlays & premium quality veneers.
